Two plies gently twisted together create a delicate lace-weight yarn perfect for lacy shawls and accessories. Warmer than sheep's wool, and as soft as cashmere, this exquisite 100% baby yak yarn is hard-wearing, luxurious and ethically sourced, and even organic!
According to the down color, three natural shades are obtained (chocolate, desert and oatmeal) which are dyed to achieve a palette of soft colors, which evoke the five elements of nature. Most yaks are of an intense shade, therefore light colors are very rare and even more precious.
These baby yak colors are only dyed on a natural basis, no bleaching or decoloring, guaranteeing an excellent quality product that respects the environment and the fiber itself. The end result? A soothing set of heathered, earth tones mixed with saturated colors and rich, dark neutrals.
Each color will vary from season to season depending on the shade of the natural fibers, making it at times darker and at times lighter. This is the beauty of working with natural fibers and therefore the shade of the sample you see photographed here might not always correspond to the shade we have in stock.

Note: The Burgundy and Chocolate colors are single ply—but this single ply is double the thickness—so gauge is the same.
