PetiteKnit Knitting Patterns 3ply / light fingering Brioche Fluffy Hats Knit-in-the-round Two Yarns Held Together

Product Information

The September Hat is worked in the round from the bottom up on a circular needle in brioche stitch. The stitches are cast on using the Italian cast-on technique to create a nice and neat edge. The top of the hat is shaped with decreases.

Please note that working brioche stitch in the round on a circular needle means that the brioche stitches are knitted on every other round and purled on every other round.

Two Sizes: Fits head circumference of 53 – 55 (55 – 58) cm

Gauge: 12 sts x 38 rows = 10 x 10 cm swatch in brioche stitch with one strand of each yarn on 4,5mm needles, measured while lightly pushing the swatch out to the sides (slightly stretched)

Suggested Needles: Circular needles: 4.5mm / 40cm; Double-pointed needles: 4.5mm (unless the Magic Loop technique is used) or the required needles to obtain gauge.

Materials: Yarn

Suggestion 1: Two Strands: 100 (100) grams of a wool DK 8ply or fine worsted 10ply yarn (based on meterage of 50g = 91m-100m) held together with 25 (25) grams of a fluffy Silk Mohair (based on a meterage of 25 g = 212 m) or

Suggestion 2: Three Strands: 50 (50) grams of a 4ply fingering weight wool yarn (50 g = 235 m) (one strand) held together with 50 (50) grams of a fluffy Silk Mohair =(25 g = 212 m) (two strands).
