The Terrazzo Hat is worked from the bottom up. First the hat is worked in rib and then in stocking stitch. The folded rib edge is knitted down. The top of the hat is shaped with decreases.
Five Sizes: 2-4 years (4-7 years) S (M) L
Measurements: Fits head circumference: 50-52 (52-54) 54-56 (56-59) 59-63 cm
Gauge:
18 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10cm in stocking stitch on 4mm needles, and
21 sts x 31 rows = 10 x 10cm in 1 x 1 rib (k1, p1) on 3.5mm needles
Needles: Circular needles: 3.5mm / 40cm and 4mm / 40cm; Double-pointed needles: 4mm
Materials: Suggestion 1: 100 (100) 100 (100) 100 grams heavy 4ply based on 100 g = 300 m) held together with 25 (25) 25-50 (50) 50 g Silk Mohair based on 210m per 25g.
Suggestion 2: 100 (100) 100-150 (150) 150 gram DK weight yarn based on 50 g = 100m to 108 metres
