Designed by Brenda Green for Ashford, this knitting pattern is for a classic crescent shaped shawl worked flat in stripes of two colours and with simple lace detail. Work it in any fine 3ply or even 4ply wool yarn. This design is suitable for Beginners. The design creates an elegant drape with the bias working around the shoulders.
One Size measures approximately 161cm long by 31cm deep.
Yardage required: approx. 900m in two colours - a Main colour and a Contrast colour - of a light fingering or 4ply yarn preferably with wool in it.
Note that this shawl can be made using any light fingering wool yarn provided the gauge matches. Try it in Ashford Merino 4ply wool here or with one of the Holst Garn yarns - Holst Garn Noble, Holst Garn Coast or even in Katia Baby Nature Organic Merino.
Gauge: 23 stitches and 50 rows for 10cm in Garter Stitch using a 3.5mm needle. Use a different sized diameter needle if your gauge differs from that specified.
Needle size: 3.5mm or as required to make gauge.
