The Beginner’s Jacket is worked back and forth in garter stitch from the top down. first the yoke is worked, then the body and then the sleeves. The sleeves are also worked back and forth and then sewn together along the inside at the end.
Twelve Sizes: 0-3 months (3-6 months) 6-9 months (9-12 months) 12-18 months (18-24 months) 2-3 years (3-4 years) 4-5 years (5-6 years) 6-7 years (7-8 years)
Finished Measurements:
Chest circumference: 50 (52) 56 (58) 60 (62) 66 (68) 70 (72) 74 (76) cm
Length mid front: 22 (25) 26 (29) 29 (32) 32 (34) 37 (37) 41 (44) cm
Gauge: 23 stitches x 46 rows = 10 x 10cm in garter stitch on a 4mm needle
Suggested Needles: 4mm / 80cm circular needles or the required needle size to obtain gauge.
Materials:
Yarn: 150 (150) 150 (200) 200 (200-250) 250 (250) 300 (300) 300 (350) grams of DK weight Alpaca yarn based on 50 g = 110m) or a fine merino Sport weight yarn such as Bellissimo 5 based on 50g = 175m)
