The Key Sweater Junior is worked from the top down with raglan increases on the yoke. Short rows are worked after the neck rib edge to shape the neckline. The body and sleeves are worked in the round and finished with rib edges. The pattern is knitted with a two-colour stripe pattern.

The Key Sweater Junior is designed to have approx. 25cm of positive ease.
The sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-11) 11-12 years are designed to fit a chest circumference of approx. 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (75) 78 cm.
If the measured chest circumference deviates from the age guide, you can adjust the lengths to the person you’re knitting for. The same applies if the child is short/taller than average.
Gauge: 20 sts x 28 rows = 10cm square swatch in colorwork pattern and stocking stitch on a 4mm needle
Needles: Circular needles: 4mm / 40 and 60 or 80 cm and 3.5mm / 40, 60 or 80 cm; Double-pointed needles: 4mm and 3.5mm (unless the Magic Loop technique is used)
Materials: Suggested Yarn: Any quality Double knit DK 8Ply soft wool yarn based on 108 metres per 50 grams for both the main colour (MC) and contrast stripes (CC).
MC approx: 150 (150) 200 (200) 200 (200) 200 (250) 250 (250) 300 grams
Stripe CC approx: 100 (100) 150 (150) 150 (150) 200 (200) 200 (250) 250 grams
