The Novice Sweater – Chunky Edition is worked from the top down. You will start by knitting the neck ribbing, then the yoke, then the body of the sweater and finally the sleeves. The sweater is worked in stockinette stitch with edges in rib stitch.

Double-pointed needles: 6mm and 7mm DPNs unless Magic Loop Technique is used.
Yarn: 300 (350) 400 (450) 450 (450-500) 500 (550) 600 grams of a fine DK weight yarn with alpaca based on 50g = 125 m held together with 100 (100) 125 (125) 125 (125-150) 150 (150) 150-175 grams Silk Mohair based on 25 g = 212 m. Two strands of yarn are held together throughout the pattern. The given yardage amounts are the total yardage required.
