Malabrigo Sport / DK Linen Merino Silk

Product Information

A wonderful luxury fibre addition to the Malabrigo Yarns family.

Susurro is a luxury DK / Sport weight luxury blend of Mulberry Silk, Merino Wool and Linen wound as a single ply.  This yarn has a marvelous balance due to the sharp contrast between the crude texture of the linen and the silkiness of the Merino.

This breezy yarn is soft and light, making it the ultimate summer yarn - and it has great metreage for shawls, scarves & wraps, accessories, lace, textured stitches, cables, lightweight garments.

The fusion of these 3 very different fibres results in an amazing depth of color, giving the yarn an almost metallic sheen.  We have all the favourite Malabrigo colours as well as a few new shades available in store for knitting and crocheting now.

Pattern idea: We've made a gorgeous sample for the shop of the Sophie Scarf by Petiteknit (pictured). The silk fibres make it a worthy substitute for the cashmere in the sample that the designer has made because of the sheen, drape and softness. Our sample was made in Plomo and used approximately 40 grams - just under one hank. You could make yours larger to use up the rest of the hank or get 2 hanks to make the Sophie Shawl by Petiteknit.

Dyelot Batches: Like all Malabrigo yarns, Susurro is kettle-dyed in small batches of five skeins by artisan dyers and is full of subtle variation and beauty. We suggest buying enough in the same dyelot batch to complete your project as skeins may vary from bag to bag hence the separate dyelot listings. To ensure random color distribution, work from two balls of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each ball.

Colours: Please view the colours on the Malabrigo website to get another photo representation. All cameras and computer monitors show the colours slightly differently, especially blues and reds. Malabrigo Yarns are small dyelot batches and can vary considerably - so we are now listing colours as per the dyelot batches. Send an email if you need advice.
