PetiteKnit Knitting Patterns 10ply / Worsted / Aran 8Ply / DK yarn Knit-in-the-round Mens Multi sized Sweaters Top-down Construction

Product Information

The Hanstholm Sweater is knitted from top to bottom with raglan openings. The ribbing of the neck is worked in yarn overs to form the neckline.

Size guide; The Hanstholm Sweater should have a range of motion (positive ease) of approx. 6cm-13cm larger than the recipient's chest measurement.

Measure the receiver before you start knitting to assess which size will fit best. If, for example, they measure 103cm around the chest (or the widest part of the body), you should knit a size L. A sweater in size L has an excess width of 115cm and, in the example mentioned, will provide a room for movement (positive ease) of 12cm.

Eight Sizes: XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL)
Designed to correspond to a chest measurement measured on the recipient's body of 86-91 (91-96) 96-101 (101-107) 107-113 (113-119) 119-124 (124-132) cm.
Finished Garment should measure:
Overall width of the sweater: 97 (104) 109 (115) 122 (127) 131 (140) cm
Length: 69 (70) 72 (75) 76 (77) 78 (78) cm (measurement center back incl. neckline)

Gauge: 21 stitches x 28 rows = 10 x 10cm square swatch in stocking stitch on 4mm needles.

Knitting needles: Circular needle 4mm and 3.5mm (40cm and 80 or 100 cm), Double pointed needles 4mm and 3.5mm.

Yarn: 600 (650) 650-700 (800) 850 (900) 950 (1000) grams of a 10ply worsted weight or full bodied DK weight wool yarn such as Peer Gynt from Sandnes Garn (50g = 91m).
