Malabrigo Sock, Fingering, Baby, 3 Ply, 4 Ply Merino Single Spun Superwash

Product Information

100% Superwash Merino single spun fingering / 4ply weight wool yarn.

Mechita is the smaller version of Mecha.  It’s a single-spun ply that glides right off the needles.  Mechita is perfect for just about any project from accessories to garments.  And since it’s machine-washable, it’s a great choice for baby and children’s garments. Mechita has the "speckles" range which is very popular in faded gradients as well as ideal in blending with other yarns for interesting fabrics.

Pictured is a lovely mosaic technique shawl from a favourite designer, Lisa Hannes - Afternoon in Lisbon Shawl - using Pearl and Teal Feather. Link to the pattern on Ravelry.

Fibre: 100% Superwash Merino Wool
Texture: Single Spun
Weight: Fingering / 4ply
Metreage: 384 metres per 100 gram skein
Gauge: 26 to 30 stitches over a 10cm swatch or as pattern suggests.
Recommended Needles:  2.25mm - 2.75mm or as pattern suggests.
Care: Machine washable, gentle cycle, cold water, dry flat. Probably not suitable for a front loading washing machine. We recommend Eucalan no-rinse Delicate Wash.

Dyelot Batches: Like all Malabrigo yarns, Mechita is kettle-dyed in small batches of 5 skeins by artisan dyers and is full of subtle variation and beauty. We suggest buying enough in the same dyelot batch to complete your project as skeins may vary from bag to bag hence the separate dyelot listings. To ensure random color distribution, work from two balls of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each ball.

Colours: The images shown are taken from our own store, but some colour variation may still apply. All cameras and computer monitors show the colours slightly differently, especially blues and reds. Send an email if you need advice.
