Knitting pattern for a Baby Cardigan that uses a 4ply fingering weight cotton yarn. Pictured in Sesia Iride 4ply Cotton Gradient shade 4628.
4 sizes for babies from prem newborn to approximately 12 months.
Knitted in a stocking stitch pattern with garter stitch hem and cuffs while the neck and button bands are picked up and ribbed. Made in pieces from bottom up and seamed at sides and sleeves, this design is suitable for beginner knitters.
Sized to fit age, approximately - to fit chest (cm):
Prem Newborn - 35cm
3 months - 40cm
6 months - 45cm
12 months - 50cm
Gauge: 28 sts and 40 rows over stocking stitch using 3mm needles.
Approx. total yardage: Uses one ball or less of the Sesia Iride 4ply Cotton Gradient Sock Yarn 125g for all sizes.
Needles sizes: 2.75mm and 3mm straight knitting needles.
Also needs: Tapestry wool needle for sewing up, 4 stitch markers and 5 buttons.
