Lisafdesign Knitting Patterns 2 - 8 years 8Ply / DK yarn Hats Knit Flat Knit-in-the-round Sweater

Product Information

This is a lisaFdesign under the Little Cupcakes brand.

Brooke is a girl's sweater and hat pattern knitted up in Lisa's own wool yarn brand, Vespers 8ply Merino with pretty details of texture and lace.  Whether she's exploring the snowy outdoors or snuggled up by the fire with a good book, this sweater will keep her warm and stylish.

Construction of the sweater is knitted flat in pieces and sewn together using mattress stitch. Like many of Lisa's patterns, the hat has two construction options to knit flat on straight needles or in the round on double pointed needles (DPNs).

Materials:
Yarn (approx): We recommend you use Vespers 8ply Merino (based on 106 metres per 50 gram ball):

Main Colour: 5 (6, 6, 7, 8, 9) balls (shown in Primrose) and
Contrast Colour: (shown in Misty)  all sizes need just 1 ball.

Needles: 4mm and 3.25mm straight knitting needles and DPNs in both sizes
Notions: stitch holders

Gauge: 22 sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch knitted on 4mm needles. Correct tension is Essential. Be sure to check your tension matches this pattern's stated gauge to ensure it will fit and you have the correct amount of yarn.  If your swatch has less stitches to the 10cm, your tension is too loose so use smaller needles.  If your swatch has more stitches to the 10cm, your tension is too firm so use larger needles.
