Yes! It’s top-down! The original Boxy pattern has been a very successful design. It has made so many knitters happy, and it has proven to be a timeless classic.
This new version includes a different neckline, but it is also worked from the top down to please most knitters’ preference for this method. As with the original pattern, both versions (knitted flat and knitted in the round) are included.
Sizes: The given sizes are called XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL, 3XL, 4XL) and they are recommended to fit a chest size of 75/80 (85, 95, 105, 115, 125, 135, 145/150) cm. Shown in size M on a 92cm/36” bust.
Body circumference: 155 (166, 166, 166, 185, 185, 185, 195) cm
Sleeve circumference at elbow: 21 (22, 23, 25, 27, 30, 32, 35) cm
Sleeve length from elbow to cuff: 16.5 cm
Length from shoulder to bottom: 53.5 (55, 57.5, 58.5, 60.5, 64, 65, 71.5) cm
Note on sizing: This sweater can fit a big range of sizes. The biggest difference among the different sizes is the sleeve circumference. And this sweater is also meant to be a little bit cropped. You can easily add some inches to the body section to make it longer. Choose a size according to your bust measurement but consider adjusting the sleeve circumference for comfort and styling.
Gauge: 23 st and 33 rows to 10cm on 3.5mm needles, in stockinette stitch, after blocking.
Yarn: Any 4ply / fingering weight merino or wool yarn that knits to the gauge.
Quantity: Approx. total of between 1190m and 1875m of 4ply yarn depending on size.
Needle Size: 3.5mm straight or circular needles for the body (directions for seamed and seamless versions are provided). 3.5mm and 3mm circular needles for the neckband and sleeves (needed for both versions).
Stitch holders, tapestry needle, an extra needle for 3-needle-bind off.
