Knit Read Walk The West Highland Way

In this 2018 collaborative creative project, Kate Davies and Tom Barr celebrate their home, their workplace, and the landscape which inspires them every day. Kate began by creating a collection of twelve hand-knit designs, each with its own distinctive story to tell with classic Fairisle feel and contemporary looks. Several patterns are knit in the ethereal Fyberspates Cumulus - a blend of baby Suri alpaca and silk which is Knitnstitch stocks.

Patterns:

  • Craigallian Hat, Mitts and Mittens
  • Strathendrick oversized sweater
  • Còinneach Yoke Cardigan
  • The Shieling blanket - featuring an iconic Thistle motif
  • Rowchoish – a bobble and cable shrug or "wrapigan"
  • Stronachlachar cabled tee / vest
  • Highland Rogue, a textured and reversible stitch pattern circular Snood
  • A cropped Spring cardigan, Oran do Chaora
  • The delicate Myrtle pullover (Cumulus)
  • Altnafeadh gauntlets (Cumulus)
  • Electric Village Wrap
  • An elegant garter stitch and simple peaked lace shawl, The Observatory (Cumulus)
