Worked in linen yarn, Ochre cardigan is a wonderful summer garment. Or use wool to knit up your Ochre Cardigan for a cosier version to add a layer of stylish warmth when required. Knit top-down with simple raglan shaping, the body and sleeve lengths are easily adjusted to suit your preference. Enjoy this timeless classic, a garment you’ll be reaching for regularly over the years to come.

Sleeves are knit-in-the-round on DPNs or using magic loop technique

Suggested Yarn: Summer option: Fingering / 4ply weight linen or linen blend for drape.  We recommend Shibui Knits Reed or Katia Lino100%

Cooler weather option: Fingering / 4ply weight wool or wool blend for warmth.  We recommend

To fit bust 30 (32, 34, 37, 40) 42, 44, 46, 48, 51 (54, 56, 58, 60)“/75 (80, 85, 92.5, 100) 105, 110, 115, 120, 127.5 (135, 140, 145, 150) cm

Designed to be worn open with 3 - 6”/7.5 - 15 cm of ease. Sample in size 44”/110 cm on a 43”/105 chest with 4”/10 cm ease.

Meterage: approximately 599 (657, 721, 787, 848) 918, 982, 1067, 1142, 1226 (1304, 1394, 1494, 1596) metres

Gauges:

20 sts and 33 rows in 10cm square swatch of stockinette stitch, blocked.

20 sts and 30 rows = 10 cm square swatch in Ochre lace, blocked

We highly recommend swatching, & washing and blocking swatch before starting the garment to get gauge, fit and better estimation of yarn. Note that Linen yarn will bloom and relax slightly with blocking.

Suggested Needle Sizes:

• 3.75mm (60-80cm) circular needle for stockinette
• 3.5mm circular needle for (I-cord and lace) or one size less than gauge needle.
• Use needle size necessary to obtain gauge
• Darning / tapestry needle to weave in ends
• waste yarn or extra cables for holding stitches
• 4 Stitch markers

Pattern Includes: Written & charted lace, photos, schematic, links to tutorials & a handy progress chart to check off as you knit

Skill Level: adventurous beginner  to Intermediate knitters, techniques use include: Picking up stitches, i-cord bind off, lace knitting.
