Created by Erika Knight, this knitting pattern is for a straightforward loosely styled poncho. Friday is knit in pieces, joined at the shoulders, with a soft round rib neck band and buttoned along a garter stitch button band.
Friday is knitted in Erika Knight British Blue 100 (8ply DK weight yarn: 100% pure British Bluefaced Leicester wool; 220m per 100g hank) here or substituted with another pure wool DK / 8 Ply yarn.
Knitting Knowledge: buttonholes, short row shaping, knitting flat, 3-needle bind off.
Three Sizes: S-M (M-L, L-XL)
Measurements: chest: 82-87cm (92-97cm, 102-107cm)
Meterage: 7 (7, 8) hanks or approximately 1540 - 1760 metres of equivalent 8ply / DK weight yarn in total
Gauge: 22 stitches and 30 rows over 10cm swatch using stocking stitch using 3.75mm needle.
Recommended Needles: 3mm x 40cm circular needle for neck band and 3.25mm and 3.75mm circular knitting needles or as needed to get Gauge of pattern
Notions: 6 Buttons, Large eyed blunt tipped sewing needle, stitch markers.
