Product Information
Designed by Brenda Green for both the Ashford Double Knit / 8ply and Triple knit 12ply weight yarns, this basic pattern is for two Adult sized knitted beanies with rib stitch brim and stocking stitch, with 2 options for instructions to knit flat or worked in the round on either circular needles or double pointed needles.
Beanie has 2 sizes - Small (54cm head circumference) and Large (59cm head circumference) - which uses just one 100g ball of either Ashford DK /8ply (200m) or Ashford Triple Knit 12ply (150m).
Gauge: 22 stitches and 28 rows for 10cm in Stocking Stitch using a 4mm needle with the 8ply or
17 stitches and 22 rows for 10cm in stocking stitch using 5.5mm needles with the 12ply. Use a different sized diameter needle if your gauge differs from that specified.
Needle sizes:
8ply version: either 3.25mm & 4mm Straight needles OR 3.25mm x 40cm long circular needle and 4mm x 40cm long circular needle.
12ply version: either 5mm & 5.5mm Straight needles OR 5mm x 40cm long circular needle and 5.5mm x 40cm long circular needle, or as required to make gauge.
