Alice Top Knitting Pattern by PetiteKnit

The Alice Top has been designed to be knit with options of either one or 2 strands held together of fine cotton or linen blend yarns.

The Alice Top is worked from the bottom up. The body is worked in the round in stockinette stitch to the armholes, the work is then divided for front and back and each section is finished separately, each worked back and forth in stockinette stitch. The back is worked in one piece, while the front is divided for a V-neckline. The pattern also contains instructions for working the top from the middle using a provisional cast on, so the final length of the top can be adjusted at the end by working the body top-down.

The Alice Top is designed to have approx. zero (0) cm of positive ease.

Materials: Yarn (2ply + Sport weight held together) or 12ply weight (single strand) 

Two Strands Option: 50 (50-100) 100 (100) 100 (100) 100 (100-150) 150 (150) grams of a Ribbon Tape yarn such as Japansk Bomuld by Isager Yarn (50g = 315 metres) (one strand) held together with 200 (200) 250 (250) 300 (300) 300-350 (350) 350 (350) grams of a Sport Weight Cotton Linen Blend Yarn such as Trio 2 by Isager Yarn (50g = 175m) (two strands). Try Katia 100% Lino with a Holst Garn Coast yarn...

One Strand Option: 250-300 (300) 300 (350) 400 (450) 450 (500) 500 (550) grams of a 12Ply Bulky Cotton Linen Rayon Blend yarn such as Tykk Line by Sandnes Garn (50g = 60 metres) (one strand). We think you could use the Fibra Natura Good Earth 10ply.

Knitting Needles: two 5mm / 80cm circular needles 

Gauge: 15 sts x 24 rows = 10cm x 10cm in stockinette stitch on 5mm needles. Start by knitting a swatch to determine which size needle gives you the correct gauge. Wash the swatch as the recommended yarns will grow with washing and wear.
